The belief that the people of God are called to exercise their gifts and talents in service of their neighbors is at the heart of the Christian doctrine of vocation. The men and women who serve on the following boards have been identified for their gifts of leadership and a commitment to the life and ministry of this congregation. They are elected to three year terms, with a maximum of two consecutive terms. These elections are held each year at the October Voters’ Assembly.
The Voters’ Assembly meets on the fourth Tuesday of the months of April and October.
All elected boards at Good Shepherd meet on the same evening, normally the second Monday of each month. We call this evening “All Boards”. Individual boards can determine their start time, but are expected to participate in the plenary session at 7:00 pm for devotions, announcements, etc. “All Boards” include the Elders, Outreach & Assimilation, Parish Education, Youth, Trustees, Day School Education, Human Care, and Stewardship.
Board of Directors:
The Board of Directors consists of the elected and appointed officers and the chair of each board. The BOD meets monthly, normally following All Boards. The principle duty of the Board of Directors is to coordinate the program and activities of the various boards, committees, and groups of the congregation. The BOD has the authority to act on behalf of the congregation between meetings of the Voters’ Assembly.
