The first response of the Christian to God’s grace is gratitude. This gratitude is expressed in countless ways . . . with our praise, our money, but also with our service to others. At Good Shepherd Lutheran Church we are committed to making a difference in the community. Therefore we encourage our members not only to volunteer within the church, but even more so in the community. Being the salt of the earth cannot be fulfilled within the building of Good Shepherd. It is fulfilled off campus, where we live, work and play.
How might you serve your community and neighbors? First answer these questions: What am I good at? What do I enjoy doing? What experiences and training do I have? What natural gifts and talents have I been given? Then ask, “Where do these skills, gifts and interests intersect with the needs of others?” Many opportunities to serve can be found in other places on this website. Good Shepherd also has a Volunteer Coordinator whose goal is to link our members with meaningful and rewarding service opportunities in the church and in the community. If you would like to visit with our Volunteer Coordinator, please call the church office.
